Welcome parents, students and friends of St. Genevieve Elementary School.
We are launching our first school-wide blog. A blog (web log) is a special kind of website that is used to hold discussions, ask and answer questions, and reflect on all of the activities that happen at our school. We welcome your comments. Please remember that children are reading!
** If you would like to comment on the new tiered tuition plan, please post your comment in the above section about Tuition.

This is a great tool in communicating with other parents and teachers. I will definitely use it. Good job!
Congratulations!
We really appreciate having this opportunity to have a blog site to communicate with the school with important matters that affects our children’s education as well as reading the parents thoughts, ideas and suggestions. God Bless to the school’s sucess!
An awesome idea from an awesome school!! I love that I will be able to communicate with my children’s teachers. I know teachers and parents alike are very busy during the day, so creating this blog site will hopefully make communicating with each other more efficiently. Great job on the school’s efforts to make this technology-friendly.
How about a follow-up PTO Meeting on a FRIDAY like 11:30 am or 1:00 pm after school ?
That sounds like a good idea. We should mention it to the PTO.
A Friday PTO meeting sounds great, but is it possible to make it later in the afternoon (like 3 or 4pm?) since I know most parents work OR perhaps if a Friday meeting is announced at least a week ahead so that we could make arrangements with our work places? Posting the agenda for the meeting ahead of time would also help.
Technology has come a long way and everyone seems to be communicating online and sharing information . It gets the message out .
I agree follow-up PTO is a great suggestion.
Or if parents are unable to attend – Someone takes minutes of the meeting and post the main highlights discussed.
Suggestion: Perhaps as an incentive, i.e. referral fee $250.00 – when you bring in a new student. Which will be applied towards tuition.
Thanks and wonderful idea “The Blog”
I would like to make a comment on the new “Tiered Tuition Plan” of St. Genevieve. I’m speaking only in my behalf and this is only my opinion. If the school will continue to pursue this type of tuition plan, and a lot of parents pick “Gold” just to be free from any obligations, the school is at risk of losing volunteers for any upcoming events. Having a mandatory “Service Hours” is one way of communicating with other parents and building friendship.
I strongly AGREE with Mr. Arnel Almazora.

That’s an interesting idea. I’m wondering how it would work, though.
Thank you for your comment.
We will be discussing the Tuition Plan in more detail next week, as it will be sent home on Tuesday, along with a letter from Sr. Teresa.
I’m 100% strongly AGREE with MR. Arnel Almazora.

Hello. I understand that some parents prefer to volunteer as they obviously have time to do so, however, some parents don’t have time to do the required service hours as they have a very demanding job. In this case they would just rather pay off whatever obligation they need to in lieu of doing the required hours. My point is that it is a great idea to give parents a choice on what plan they would like to pay their child’s tuition. Either way it will benefit the school and the parents.
I was not able to attend the pto meeting. what is this “Tiered Tuition Plan” ?
If all families choose the “gold” tuition plan, than there is no need for fundraising, or any volunteers for any kind of event.
If we choose the “silver” tuition plan, does this mean I have to sell $800.00 of fundraising to equal $400.00 profit?
If this is the case, we need better fundraisers.
Please correct me if I’m wrong. Service Hours fulfilled.
